Q.) What’s the difference between Wet and Dry Cupping?
Q.) Do you treat men and women?
Ans.) Yes we are able to take appointments for males and females.
Q.) How long does a session usually last?
Ans.) Depending on the treatment chosen between 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Q.) What should I do before a session?
Ans.) If you have the ability, it is highly recommended to fast at least 2-3 hours before the session. You can still drink.
This is because having food activates the blood circulation in digesting and transporting nutrients around the body.
Q.) What should I do after a session?
Ans.) It is recommended for the patient to follow the below points:
- Avoid having a shower/bath for 24 hours.
- Avoid dairy and red meat products for 2 days.
- You can eat fish, eggs, fruit, vegetables, small portion of chicken only – try to avoid if possible. These foods require more energy and blood flow during digestion, therefore reducing the blood flow to the cupped areas and slowing the healing process.
- Avoid all caffeine/carbonated (fizzy) drinks (for 24 hours). You should drink lots of spring water to stay hydrated & you can drink green tea instead which has better health benefits.
- Avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours.
- Avoid sexual relations for 24 hours.
- Apply olive oil generously on the affected area twice daily for 1 week.
Q.) Does it hurts?
Ans.) Hijama does not hurt. But sometimes, there is discomfort and in the first day or so afterwards, the cupped area may feel a little itchy. We recommend to apply black seed oil on cupped areas to help itchiness, aid healing, reduce scarring and reduce the risk of infection.
Q.) Does cupping cause bruising?
Ans.) A cupping therapy session may leave painless marks from pulling up the stagnant blood, we call it “discolouration”, commonly mistaken for bruises. Cupping should NOT cause bruises. Bruises are caused by trauma, blood leaks into the surrounding tissue and as a result can be painful.
Q.) How long do the cupping marks last?
Ans.) Your cupping marks may be instant or develop over the first 24 hours. After 3 days, they start to disappear and should be gone after a week.
Q.) How many sessions will I need?
Ans.) This depends on the problem being treated.
Q.) What are the health benefits?
Ans.) Cupping helps with many diseases and issues such as Digestive problems, Muscles pain, Sports injuries, Skin problems (psoriasis, eczema, acne etc). But also relieve Stress, Migraines, Anxiety, Depression, Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, High Blood Pressure, , Allergies, Asthma, Varicose Veins and much more.
Q.) Do you re-use the cups and scalpels (blades)?
